Hello, i was woundering if you could help me please people. This is my story. Some days ago i foudnd out my AV (kaspersky) was disabled. So i enabled it, runned a PC scan, and found several viruses/malwares. About 4 out of the 17 found, were important infected files (.dll files). I didnt knew about them untill a few hrs ago. So i accidentaly SHRED them (with tuneup utilities). So, they are impossible to get them back. The problem now is: My AVP is not working, Microsoft office isnt working, MSN isnt working, and god knows what else is not working. Luckly Opera (my browser) is still working and i am trying to find some help plsease. Any suggestion or help will be apreciated. PS. i dont remember the exact names but some files were such as run34.dll /euxljiw.dll.... ect. Thing is i dont remember their exacte names so i cant simply download them from www.dllfiles.com Do someone know a place where i can download the whole file? (C:/WINDOWS)

I also recommend that you use system restore. You'll be able to use it again. Or you can repair windows by inserting the Windows Cd in your cd drive. Well, I know what you feel right now, just don't panic and don't lose hope. I hope you'll be able to fix it in no time.

You can try repairing your windows, if those programs still donot work. Then you will have to reinstall all of them. I hope all the virus makers who make them for wrong reasons get screwed up!!

Windows is not really dependable and it is common when you find that the computer has slowed down or some program refuses to start. In such cases it is better to ask your system administrator to format the drive and re load your Windows. You won't loose any data by re-loading Windows. You have to take the backup of all your data and then proceed for formatting. Better take some professional advise if you are not aquainted with computer software installations.

Normally when a program won't run due to a missing program components it will prompt you an error about that missing dll files. You would then try to download all that missing files until its working again. This is very time consuming and not a guaranty that you have completed it even if its working. The best way to correct this is as they have suggested - reinstall all.

Hello guys, I will only post here, since its the last topic and i dont want to make an inidivual coment for each post. Yeh, i mean run32, not 34, (i know just miss typed) I tried tu run system restore a some days ago but somehow there is only 1 system restore point, i have tried to restore it several times, even in safe mode, but it say "system could not be restored to this point, plseas choose another system restore point"So that wont help. Right now, i dont have the XP CD instalation, but i am downloading it right now, and i am planning to burn it ina CD, (hope that is the same as the instalation CD) What is the difference between formating and reinstaling windows XP? My biggest concern is that when i erase all the files to rewrite them, the computer wont boot. Will formating bring it to default? Or will it delete everything? (windows, office, prgrams, ect). Will reinstaling XP work? Im not worried about having to reinstal since i have a 30gb Ipod where i can store all vital info before doing anything. Once again, Thank you all for your coments, and help

Formatting will erase everything including your data. This is the best way because your PC will run as you run it the first time. The downside of this is you have to be ready with all your device driver disc, window setup disc, all programs installation disc and has to backup all your data and restore it. Your data should include My documents, emails, bookmarks, program settings and other stuff you created. A reinstall is writing over your existing one, very much the same as formating procedure but you getaway with the erase everything, no driver re-installation and your program settings will not be lost. This is the safest approach to your problem. Which ever path you choose, be ready with all your installation disc(including CD keys), driver disc and your data backup before you start the fix. The XP you are downloading will do just fine and should be a disc, just use your original CD key. Wish this could somehow help you and good luck.

Hello again ferdNK. I might format my HD, to erase all the junk in it. My only concern is: Besides things such as photos, and school works (officeword), what should i have at hand once i format it. I dont care much about the extra programs lost (nero, Photo shop, encarta, ect) since i am handy enough to download the full versions in internet. What concerns me is: will i have to have some instalation for office, paint, the system things (such as clock, search utility, ect ect.)

Hi if you are having a virus or malware issue with the dll files on the system then repairing the operating system will not help ... the best options would be try system restore and then try to run smitfraudfix or any other virus scan and remove the viruses if that does not helps you have to do an OS REINSTALLATION

the last thing that i will advise you is to re-format your harddrive. try to search for undeleter softwares. they recover files that were deleted even if you used a file shredder to delete the files. if your shredder is so good that you can't recover the deleted files, then that's the time that you have to re-format your pc. then in the future, i would suggest that you use norton goback. it's like a system restore. you can restore the settings of your computer in case of a pc accident. good thing with norton go back is that you can also recover deleted or modified files. :)
