everytime i turn on the news, most of what i see is about the economy and the new record high price of crude oil. when unemployment is up and inflation is rising, we might be witnessing the coming of the enevitable crash of the stock market and the economy.

When you are investing in a company because you know that company has a good product, good market, and is running profitably in marketing its products, and you know you'll get paid a share of its profits (dividends), then why worry about the coming stock marketing crash?

So do you guys still feel that this crash will not be as bad? We are still headed down with no signs of recovery anywhere! This market is great for investors to put money into the market though. Allmost all the stocks are down, which means they are on sale! I am getting into the market heavily now so when it recovers I will have insane profits. To anyone who is scared and wants to sell their stocks, don't! Stay in the market, it will go back up, it always has and should always in the future. The market has averaged 10-12% over it's life. Buy into bigger companies that you know can weather this storm though. Small companies are still very volitile and a scary place to be. Mutual funds are a good way to diversify and cut down some of that risk. A good index fund like the Vangaurd 500 index fund or many others like it is a good place to be when the market recovers. That way you enjoy the profits of all the companies and not just the few you are in if you own individual stocks. Stick in there the economy will recover just give it time. For the mean time, batten down your hatches, pool your money for when it starts it's recovery phase, then jump in and roll in the profits.

I think that we are not going to see a stock market crash as in 1929 style. There are too many governmental safeguards in place for that. If gas gets to be much higher though, I think it is going to lead to some severe repercussions in the economic situations in this country. Just at my local grocercy store I noticed there are not as many products on the shelves as there used to be. i think trucks are not making as many deliveries due to high gas/diesel prices.
