How to open someone's musical mind.

Here's a problem for anyone to mull over. Say you know of a really amazing band, for example, Drums and Tuba, but your friend doesn't like them because he's for too cool for that, and seems to believe that by enjoying them, that his manhood will shrink. My question is how do you get a person like this, whose mind is so closed to crack open a little and see the light? Thanks in advence for any responses.

I just sneak it into the "conversation." I'll make a mixed CD with a bunch of stuff I know said friend likes and then slip a couple of songs I want them to try in between the other tracks. With any luck they will just listen to it without realizing it and come to me later and say, what was that? I play mixed cds at work all the time and get a little twitterpated when the girl I work with asks about something with an interested tone - the last thing was She & Him - I love getting other people to expand their musical horizons.

If he doesn't like music at all, give him an electric guitar and play some Sammy Hagar or AC/DC. That'll fix him. -Nods- If he does listen to other music, just slip it to him gradually, be discreet. Play it along with other stuff and if he complains, just say "We've listened to your stuff, now we listen to mine." If he doesn't like it eventually, it's just not his aesthetic. That could be the case.
