Hi, I know what you mean about exercise. In my mind I am so good about doing it, but physically I'm a procrastinator. I hate it. When I moved here 4 years ago I went off the only diet that ever really worked for me and I lost 40 pounds on that one. After going back to sugary junk and starchy foods and then, even worse, tried to quit smoking, I gained 30 of it back. So I have decided to return to the Atkins diet to get some of this back off by August. It has been one week since starting the low carb diet again and I have dropped 5 pounds so far, with no exercise. The last time I tried it the diet was really hard for the first couple of days, but this time it is much easier. I am going on vacation Sept 1st and it is impossible to be in Las Vegas for a week and not eat everything in sight. Plus there is a tremendous amount of walking and my knees and back scream in pain after a short time. So that is why I have to get at least 20 pounds off before I go. I am using that anticipation as my incentive to stick to the diet until we go. So far it is working. Good luck to you and I can highly recommend the low carb diet based on actual experience.

[em]thumbup[/em If this is the first time you have tried low-carb it is definitely not easy. It does get easier after a week or so. Hang in there, you will see a change pretty quickly. I bought Dr. Atkins' New Diet Cookbook at Walmart about 4 years ago. Although I don't use the cookbook recipes, it has the complete diet in there and the scientific reasons for the diet are explained very well. The original book is called Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution. I am sure you can find it on Amazon or any book store. The Induction phase is the most important step to follow at first.

someone said to me that she drank tea everyday and that's how she kept being slim. I don't know if it would work on every person, but I think too much tea is not good for our health either. do you love to walk? probably you can just start by walking around the area you like, probably noon walk or morning walk. I don't recommend diet pills though, I don't think they would be safe to consume.

Hi, It's becoming more difficult to find people who don't have weight issues. My educational background focused primarily on psychology and the medical and psychological aspects of eating disorders. I have worked with one of the major weight loss centers, and had my own business as a personal weight management consultant. I am now retired, and have begun compiling some of my work into articles for publication. I hope to eventually finish a book on sensible weight loss. I recently published my first article on Triond. In it I offer a permanent solution for controlling weight problems with realistic, easy to implement information. And yes, I have included options for people who aren't into exercise. I don't recommend diet pills, because they only offer a temporary fix. In addition, whatever you lose will be regained. There are also health risks with many diet pills. Following an accident that left me unable to walk for several years, I also developed a weight problem. The lack of physical activity (and emotional overeating) caused a gradual weight gain. One day I realized that my clothing hadn't shrunk, I had grown--horizontally. Once the process of gaining weight started, it zoomed ahead at full speed. I suffered the additional embarassment of having worked in the field of eating disorders. But weight problems, as with any other health-related issue, can afflict anyone. People had always come to me for advice and help with their weight problems, and now I had to become my own client. Struggling with physical issues, medications, and menopause made the process of losing a lengthy one for me, but I did lose the weight--a total of fifty five pounds which I had gained over a period of four years. I don't think I am allowed to post any links here, so if you are interested in reading my article, add me as a friend and semd me a pm requesting the link to my article. I wish you the best of luck in resolving your weight issues, and hope that my article will be of help to you in accomplishing your ultimate goal of permanent weight loss.

I wouldn't use diet pills unless you are going to detox before you start your diet. I start my diet 2 weeks from today and I already lost 8 pounds. I'm drinking water and some juice. No diet soda. I got really bad with drink Mt. Dew everyday at least three times a day and a small bag of chips. I cut down my food in take a lot. That first week was so hard! I was hungry all the time. My body was so use of me putting in a lot then it just stop and my stomach was like "B!tch this just a snack!! FEED ME!!" I didn't give in and this pass week wasn't as bad as the last, but it was still hard! You just have to stick to it! I also bought me some plates that are smaller so I don't get all tempted to put more on my plate! I buy fruit, veggies and low fat yougurt to snack on when I get hungry, instead of chips and cookies. Like yourself I do not like to exercise. I am not a morning person and getting up to exercise is not me. I go walking with my aunt in the park in evenings. When I'm watching tv I do sit up and push ups. Not a lot, but it is a start from not doing anything! You have to find out what right for you and your body. Do not strave yourself, you have to eat to be healthy, just cut back little by little and will be secound nature. Also reward yourself with foods you like just don't over do it. Plus I feel so much better and it's only been a week! If you want someone to talk to just add me as a friend! It's always nice to have someone behind you! Good Luck!! (:
