It depends on where you stay. We have some pujas (Worship some god/goddess) in India where we celebrate and also wear new dresses.

To be honest, I LOVE Thanksgiving; You don't have to do nothing but cook, eat and be grateful for another day and most things are closed. I worked last Thanksgiving and I hated that. I cooked a full meal for my daughters and they ended up staying with friends. My mom was already with my brother and his family. But I love the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade and to me that's tradition and I love to get up and watch it and eat and just have a nice quiet lazy day at the house.

It sounds like your last Thanksgiving hadn't worked out as planed from what i understand. I'm sorry you didn't have the meal you wished for, but yes, at least the parade was there to cheer you up. Thanks for the comment.

Its a toss up between Christmas and Canada Day! Christmas because I usually get to go home and see my family, Canada Day because it signifies the official beginning of summer and a long weekend to go camping and have a good time!

Long weekend and camping - ah that's the life. I guess that makes it a though choice indeed for you.

I like Christmas the best because the holiday spirit starts long before Dec. 25th. People are more cheery, stores and homes are decorated and there is anticipation in the air. I feel more spiritual at Christmas, more connected, for some reason, too.

I can only agree - i have fun with my friends even long after Christmas has passed - i had a store in my 'hood that still had decorations in march . People do get more cheery and most of them more good hearted at least during the time of the holiday itself.

My favorite holiday is Christmas coz its the time of the year that the whole clan gathered together, exchange gifts, eat together, and just have fun. Most importantly, its the birthday of Jesus Christ.

On Christmas you should be with your family and exchange gifts, that is such a treat for all of us.
