Am i too slow in responding?

Well if I were you I would not change my way of doings. It is actually good that you are taking time to take care of errors before you make your submissions. There are some guys who just make careless submissions and this has no justification at all.

I also often look for some discussion with n responses and if I find it interesting, I would like to be the first to respond. But then yes, it sometimes happen that when I submit my post, there is already a response. It's ok. as long as you think you have something to say about the topic, I guess it doesn't matter whether you're first or second or last. The most important thing is you participated and shared your thoughts.

First thing is, you have got the concept a little wrong. There's no prizes here for being the first one to response. Nor is there the slightest chance of the questioner selecting your answer as the best answer straight away without looking at any other answer which may come in due course.In fact, that shouldn't ever be done. Only when you are sure more or less that no other answer can come in after this, should you go for selecting the best one. Stress should always be on content, as you have yourself said you do. Don't worry about being the first in line. This isn't a race. This is a healthy discussion forum. So just relax and enjoy it here. Cheers.

Hi there Jersey! I have tried posting responses on discussions with no responses. Sometimes, I post my response first and sometimes, someone beats me too. But I never given it much thought. Well, maybe they type faster than you. That could be one, or maybe they are already typing their response before you saw that certain discussion. The speed of internet connection is another factor to be considered too.
