My son's last day of Kindergarten is next Wednesday. I'll most likely get his teacher a gift certificate to Staples, but I'd also like to get her a small token, to remember my son by. Any ideas? He also has an aide and a Grammy in his class, I'd like to get something for them also. Help!

Okay lets think now, I was a paraprofessional in kindergarten for 6 yrs. I think one of the most memorable gifts I received was a picture that a little girl drew for me and her mom wrote a poem on the back of it and had it laminated. You could have him draw a picture of his favorite activity he did with that person, make them a plate of cookies or some type of desert,we always have one of those days when we need a piece of candy. A candle or body spray is always nice. When I was a room mom at the beginning of each year I always sent a questionnaire to my children's teachers asking simple questions like : what is their favorite candle scent, candy, cookie, color. When their b-days are. That way I didn't have to worry about it throughout the year. You could also get a gift card to a movie rental store and get some microwave popcorn, some candy and a drink. But its the hand made pictures and stories that we enjoy the best. Sorry Im so late maybe it will help for next year.

My son gave his teacher a little note that he wrote himself of why he liked being in the class. And she was so proud and has it. We had also given a small gift...but she said she loved the note more than the gift. Here in India, the class help(who helps to clean the class) prefers cash and so that's what we gave her.

My son gave his kindergarten teacher (Mrs. English)a potpourri dish with a bag of potpourri, he chose that because she always smelt good. The next year my other son gave her a scented candle for the same reason!

You may get them some nice jewelery, the ethnic type that are cheap, or maybe a lipstick, or a nice pen set. And a card made by your son, too. I'm a teacher and I usually get something of the sort.
