Would you consider this a true friend?

A TRUE friend would never cause problems with you or about you. a TRUE friend would be kind to you and always have your back when others are causing problems for you. I would get rid of this person ASAP.

no i would not call the hacker a friend at all. a true friend is someone who is there for you not someone who intentionally causes problems and confrontations.

Sounds like your friend just committed a crime. It is illegal to go into other people's accounts, read snail mail, etc. I think that's a harsh thing to do to someone who is suppose to be someone you trust. I'm assuming you have offically cut ties with him? I think that would be the best thing to do. And what is a true friend these days anyway?

No, the hacker is not your friend and the hacker is also a jerk. A friend does not do something to intentionally hurt a friend so this person doesn't even come close to being a friend.

A person who does that is not a true friend at all. true friends look out for you not try to pull you down. i suggest you get rid of that so called friend as soon as possible before he gets you into some really big trouble
