I was watching television tonite and I have noticed that most of the video games contain killing and violence. My question is do you think those games have gotten more violent than ever?

Now a days a game without any form of violence is a rare thing. Back in the days of mario and pac man there weren't any kind of violence and games were fun to play. Games like GTA does effect the kids in a bad way and example of this is the incidents in which kids shoot each other in real life.

Oh please don't get me started on that... Ask yourself this simple question: What game did jack the ripper play??? gta? The reason of the increasing violence is because increase of narcissism. "i'm better than the rest of you" style All children suffering from an increase of agression while playing video games is because they are mentally ill. This all started when someguy had muredererd someone and because the lawyer wanted to win the case he said: hey, let's blame videogames. I have played games for many years and i haven't become (neither my friends) more agressive. I'm just tired of these accusations.

yes!! You are absolutely right, the most of video games are getting inspired from the action movies,or they are game version of well known hit action flicks, and hence they are violent in nature, and also getting more violent with times. But I am concerned about what effect they bring on the minds of the kids. What do you think??

I think it tells kids that violence is the answer. I don't agree. I remember buying the Mario games for my kids when they were younger.

I can remember when people thought Mortal Kombat was too violent. The games today make Mortal Kombat look sweet and innocent. The problem is that as soon as someone comes out with a game that gets labeled the most violent or shocking ever then someone else feels like they have to try and top it. To answer your question, yes I think they have gotten too violent. Why do people think something has to be gory and sick to be fun? I must be in the minority though because it's market driven...violence sells. If people would stop buying the ridiculously senseless violent games then companies would stop focusing on making their games shocking and spend more time focused gameplay.

Yes, game companies are making money from what society produces. We live in a violent world, why not market that to people who might just kill a computer character and get it out of their system instead of killing someone in real life. I don't play those kinds of games, I don't want to become desensitized so that real life looks like a video game. I choose not to play such games, but I think they need market it during other TV shows besides the ones that kids watch.

Video games have been too violent these days. Role Playing Games with x-rating and 18+ rating have extremely violence in their act and Characters are tend to kill their enemies in each level. These acts can disturb younger people minds and can develop an immaturity in them. For example, my aunt's son, he's just 8 years old and he's addicted to these games. He knows every weapon name and the places where to shoot to kill a person. He doesn't have to know about these things upto an age of matured behavior but its very immaturity in him to know these at that age. Somebody have to take this into serious and act upon this.
