Fine, I know it sounds like a fairytale yet I have to admit that i believe that the Bible is the real deal. For some, however, it is hard to accept at face value simply because the author is supposed to be God. What's your stand on this, is the Bible real?

I'm not a Christian, so I approach the Bible as literature. I'm fully supportive of anyone who believes the Bible, but it doesn't work with my religious/spiritual self. As the most basic level, the Bible has been translated (and mistranslated) so many times. Even today, when the words are correct, regular men manipulate the Bible to suit their needs. There's nothing pure about world religions to me anymore, and this is just the beginning of the reasoning behind that.

nice comment. the bible is open to interpretation which leads to debate. lives have been lost due to this debacle. please expound more on the non-purity of world religions.

Yes I do believe in the Bible. Everything is there. It is the manual of life. It's practical and full of wisdom. Even no believers read it for advice.

I believe in the bible as it has been handed down by the holy spirit and it has been my constants companion be it in good or bad times. Whenever you are really out and down just flip through any page of the bible and read a passage, somehow an answer to your misery is given in the text. Try it.

"it is hard to accept at face value simply because the author is supposed to be God." God is the Inspiration for the Bible. One truly amazing thing about the Bible is that it was written by many authors over a period of several thousand years and yet you can read it cover to cover and get an overall storyline: God created the world and humans in it, God desires relationship with us, God is Just and redemptive, God intervenes to bring mankind back to Him over and over, God will be judge and redeem at the end and restore all to rightness with Him. I don't it accept it at face value either. It is too deep and important for that. Children can accept Biblical principles and Bible stories at face value; adults need to delve into the message a bit deeper. Our relationship to God and purpose for being is something to be studied, pondered, and wresteled over - not something to blithely accept or toss aside like a Christmas toy.

The funny thing is that science has proven many of the Bible stories, people, places and events.

i believe the Bible is real about the beginning of time and how God created earth and everything in it, evolution, Messiah, and it is pure. but these days, due to all the crazy people in society, humans are messing with God's perfection and marring HIS work. so, God creates perfection and humans seem to destroy it.

Recently, my son told me he did not believe in the Bible. He said it has been translated so many times it would not be possible for it to be an accurate translation. So, I researched the subject in order to try and change his mind. while the Bible has been translated many times, it has been checked and double-checked for accuracy. The problem, as I see it, is the changes society has made in the meaning of the words. When the Bible was written words had much different meanings than they do now. I DO believe in the Bible, and when reading it, attempt to "translate" the modern translation, in order to get what God means us to to get. Of course, my translation is just that -- another translation. So, before I start to read the Bible, I pray that God will help me to understand what He is saying.
