Mark Steyn is on trial. For what reason, he decided to speak his believe in the form of a magazine article. What are these belief that has landed him in so much hot water, he dared to speak out about Islam. He dared to say that Islam threatens Western values. The trial is before a court with the Orwellian title of the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal. If only he had said something about Christianity he would have been okay.

I've read a little about that case. What is going on in Canada is that Islam has infiltrated the Human Rights Tribunals. Not that these tribunals are populated by Muslims, but that Muslims have really gotten good at influencing them.

Good point. It is not as if the Canadians are raving maniacs with torches and pitchforks looking for evil heretics to burn at the stake. I'll bet the country would be fine without any Human Rights Tribunals which sound like another name for thought police.

In Canada, if you are a Christian and you say the homosexuality is a sin, even if you are a pastor and a human rights commission just happens to be listening, they can throw you in jail or put you on trial and fine you thousands of dollars and forbid you to preach against sodomy (the old world for homosexuality) again. So it is not just Muslims who can sue and get away with it, it is those of same gender preference. So in Canada we have the thought police. 1984 came a little later than expected here, but it is here already. Oh in Canada, Christianity is fair game, but say something against another race, or religion and they are on you like fleas on a dog.

It is truly sad when the religion that founded our two countries is now the one that is being prosecuted. What scares me is that Canada has always been an early warning system for the States. Before we started to legalize gay mariage you all legalized it. You all have Universial Health Care now we are hearing the dumb beats for it. The Constitution can only hold out for so long.

Isn't this the truth? The more some countries gain freedom the less we have ours. USA is next. Canada has a healthcare that means you have to waits 6 months for a doctor appoint and if you need surgery, longer. If you are sick and go the hospital, and the hospital has reached there quota, they will say...sorry! That is what universal healthcare would mean for the USA. More and more the majority loses freedom of speech. Minorities can do as they please, and nobody can say anything because authorities don't want to offend them. Christians are so hated today even by other people who profess to be Christians like Obama's church. If that was a white church we would be in deep doo.

As I have been tell some of my friend our troop are fighting for someone elses freedom while their freedoms are away. Canada has always been an early warning system, if it can happen up there it can happen here.

You are right about that, as it has been for some time now, you can speak against Christianity with no problem, but to speak against another religion and its a federal offense...I wonder where that falls in the freedom of speech.
