Oatmeal is a very filling food that helps to maintain or lower your cholesterol. I think it would be pretty good to use as a diet food. The steel cut type is even better although it takes a long time to cook.

Yes it is, and even more healthy for your cholesterol. Try to stay away fom instant when dieting since it tends to be high in sugar, but original style oatmeal made with boiling water, not milk is great for a diet. When I was in Weight Watchers, one of the advisors suggested that I add a tspn. of brown sugar and also a small handful of raisins and it is delicious.

Hi katemeow,
I eat oatmeal everymorning and i love it.I dont like instant oatmeal.According to the Healthy and Beauty a magasine here in Netherland oatmeal w/ fruit on it is the best and healthy breakfast that you can have.It is good for your heart and cholesterol becouse oatmeal is rich of fibers. They said adding fruits that sugar is the best way to eat it.Thats why i tried to do it w/ straberry fruits, sometimes i put banana w/ it.Or you can used plain w/ milk that is also yummy.
Greetings from Che!
