Recently i've heard from a fren that colgate tooth paste could be used as facial cleanser and it is suppose to be oil controlling...Oily skin had always been an issue for me... So last nite when i realised i ran out of cleanser i decided to give colgate a try... To my surprise it actually worked!!! My skin actually stayed clear the rest of the nite(till about 3 a.m. when i went to bed) =D but i am unsure if i should continue to use it as cleanser... cos ultimately it's purpose is for my teeth... so ya... =/

Is this just a hype? Lol. I do have oily skin too. But it must depend on the skin type. Does it really have to be Colgate or in general just any kind of toothpaste?

My one friend back in high school told me it was good to use to help get rid of zits .I tried it and got super itchy and it broke me out more .I also tried it when I was older and just made a mess ,I had it all stuck in my hair I think it might work on someone just didnt work for me. I guess we will see as time goes on and you get answeres for the post . Have a good day !!

When I was in junior high, I used to do that same thing because I had really oily skin. I do not think it is damaging to use toothpaste on your face. The reason it works so well is because of the amount of cool minty freshness it has. It opens up your skin to breathe. They make minty face washes and lotions and masks. You just have to look for them a little more than other face washes but it might actually be cheaper to just keep using toothpaste. Whatever you prefer.

Yeah, nightress! I also heard about this myth during my late high school days and just like you, I found it to be effective. You have just clearly stated the exact reasons which I wasn't able to point out in those days -- as all that matters to me then was that toothpaste really works fine on my oily face. Well, I remember it took months before I finally changed beauty ritual.

Wow. Seems like it works from other mylotters comments. I will give it a try. My T-Zone is kind of oily and it's really irritating. I'll definitely give it a try. I do not use Colgate. I'll try using Darlie instead.

Hi Dudoos Really, can toothpaste use as a face cleaner and many are already tried that. It is a new piece of information to me. By the way colgate has many type of toothpastes. Which one did you use? the gel type or the other one?
