I don't know if you have your dogs in a fenced in yard or not. If you do you need to treat your yard. and all along the outside of the fence-line. If you live out in the country and they're not fenced in, I'm not sure how to keep them off. Mine are in a fenced in yard and I get stuff from my vet to put on them once a month. I guess if your yard isn't fenced in you should still treat the area around your house and where ever they hang out.

You definitely have to treat the inside of your house too. You may have to get foggers and other things, but you have to treat the inside of your house. Is it woodsy where you live? Where in the world are they picking up ticks from? It's bad here in the south. Fleas and things just thrive here. It's an on going battle with the critters.

Hi eliren. Try soap with sulfur. Look for this ingredients in the soap. I don't trust a dog soap which says for fleas. Try Dr. Wongs sulfur soap then leave it for 5 minutes and then wash it, then after you dry her up put a flea powder try a brand of flea powder made by bayer or vanguard. It's great. If you see some fleas in her body try to take it off and burn it. You can put it into paper and burn it. Because if you cannot burn them they can still multiply and will definitely make your dog skinny. Try them up if you like I've proven that.

Hi, I want to apply vanguard powder on my dogs but I don't know how. Like should I part his hair in places so it goes to the skin? Do I only put it on his back and no where else on his body? Or everywhere? Even the face? How often? Thaaank youuuu

Sprinkle a little garlic powder on their food in the day..put on them a little lemon juice mixed with cloves (onto their fur) before they go outside . Fleas and ticks cannot STAND garlic coming out in the dog's sweat and they HATE lemon juice and cloves! If you'd rather..a little regular Listerine rubbed on the fur also helps? NO bugs can stand the stuff! (Listerine also works to keep bugs off of your garden plants!)

Hi there and welcome to myLot! You can get rid of the flees yourself. Just pull them off your dog's skin and kill them until they bleed. :) After that make sure that your dog stays clean. Use an anti-tick shampoo or soap to bathe him or her at least one a week (not every day or they'll die) followed by anti tick powder. Good luck and I hope to read more posts from you. :)
