I know that when I choose my discussion I read the topic and then comment. I rarely read all the comments. What do you do?

After reading the discussion poster's comments, I usually read one or two responses. Then after I post my response, I again read another two responses(not the same ones of course). I find that it depends on the question posed by the discussion starter. If it is deep and complicated, why not look to others for help?

I read others comments but I dont read all of them. Just a couple to make sure i dont write the same thing and that i understand the topic.

I read some of them, especially if I'm not entirely sure what the discussion is asking.

If I am extremely interested in the topic I will read every reply. If there is a ton of replies I may get tired of reading and just go ahead and respond and then I may or may not come back to read the rest of the replies. If it is something that I find interesting I may or may not read all of the replies depending on how much time I have at that moment or how much mylotting I want to get done that day before I have to go back to the real world.

I do read some comments on every topic usually the one on the front page of the discussion. It will make write something different from those of other responses. You may also find other responses helpful if you are having trouble in understanding the discussion.

I agree with him. Before making any comments, you have to read the others to: 1) avoid duplication 2) give relevant information 3) spend your time wisely But of course, you still find out what works for you.

I usually read all the comments to avoid talking about same things, unless there are more than 5 pages and I know i won't gain anything from reading them. If it's my own discussion, then of course i read all the comments, and read them few times to understand all.
