I just read a story about a mother who just gave birth to twins. Their combined weight was 23 pounds and 1 ounce. One weighed 10 lbs 14 ounces and the other weighed 12 lbs 3 ounces. The mother delivered by c-section and both babies are in excellent health. Could you imagine being pregnant with twins that big? That poor woman must have been miserable! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080620/ap_on_fe_st/odd_big_twins

Hi cyndvvs! Oh my those are heavy to carry! Now wonder she delivered them by C-section. But I am sure the mother is very proud to have delivered the twins in excellent health. I do hope that they will grow healthy and strong all throughout the years. Take care and God Bless!

I saw both babies and their parents on a TV interview and they seem to be doing well. The babies did not look like newborns. At least the mother delivered by C-section I cannot immagine having natural birth of such large babies.

Wow! I can't even imagine carrying ONE 10 lb baby, let alone two! My son was 8 lbs 10 oz, and he was heavy enough to make me miserable at the end!

I wonder how big the mom was. My mom is barely 5'3" and I was 11 lbs when I was born. Those babies do look big. I personally have only have 7-8lb babies and could not imagine a 12 pounder, much less 2. Congratulations to them. I love hearing stories about babies being born :)

cynnddvs that poor woman in deed carrying over twenty two pounds of baby. plus the fact that overweight babies 'are often a sign that the mom has or will have shortly diabetes. she should be monitored for diabetes as soon as possible because that is one big sign of diabetes, babies weighing ten to twelve pounds.
