The Red Cross Is Broke?

I read in time magazine today that the red cross is broke. They are having to take out loans to continue to run their shelters and other disaster activities. Their lack of funds is due to all the disasters that have happened and the weak economy. So they are needing to spend more and they are getting less. I think this is a tragedy. They are one of the only charity organizations that do what they are supposed to. They are often there first helping people before any other organization gets there. Last year the California fires hit my husband's grandfather's trailer park we got to visit with and see the red cross volunteers work first hand. I will tell you this is a great organization. I think I will donate my next mylot payout to them. What do you think about this? Anyone else have red cross stories to share?
