Love Ruins Friendship....?

yesterday our group of friends had met up we all have been together for donkeys years now..in our group yesterday a guy (vineet) proposed to another friend (richa) he said he loved her...she did not approve of it and the scene started getting kind off ugly bcoz he started quoting all the years we spent together as friends and how he had stood by her when she needed help to make her say yes....and the guys were so insensitive they started teasing them as romeo juliet...richa just walked off and later on said tht she cant stand vineet and now we dont know how to handle this situation i can see our friendship getting ruined bcoz of this one love angle added....till date we have been best of friends and stood by each other through thick and thin..should we mix love and friendship? how can u stand up one day and suddenly say tht u loved ur friend the other way and not just a friend? what is the way out of this can vineet and richa still b friends? can a love proposal break years of friendship?

Well, nothing ventured, nothing gained. If he apologizes to her you can all enjoy your group. I've had this happen to me and couldn't understand a man I loved as a brother looking at me as an object of passion. It was like having my brother propose to me, and a bit disgusting!
On the other hand, sometimes men and women love each other and don't speak up so lose out on a wonderful relationship. Please tell Richa that Vineet was paying her a compliment and tell Vineet he needs to look elsewhere and treasure her friendship. We need all the friends we can get!
