to eat is probably one of the most pleasurable activities.it is difficult or rather impossible to compromise with it. do you think you can do so? if you can, what is your substitute for eating?

Eating has been not so pleasurable for me for a long time. I try to not think about it but from a very young age I was restricted at times and then by about 8th grade I started really developing food issues where I would throw away food and not eat until I was so dizzy that I pretty much had no choice because I was sick. So basically, yes, there are things I do love to eat. But I do have a love hate with food. Over the years when I have gone without eating for a few days I usually got by on caffeine, or sleep or listening to music. Music is the major thing that fills me up, and when I am deep in a state of listening to music time can pass so easily and I am not even hungry anyway. Ok, I probably sound crazy. LOL I can't really explain it. I do get pleasure from the feeling of being completely empty, but at the same time I don't like being weak and sick, and that is a major consequence of not eating. So I guess my answer is this; yes I can compromise with it, but only for so long. After a few days I either get so sick that I have to force myself to eat or someone will make me eat. Then there are times that I am not as in control, and then I get mad at myself. My substitute for eating is sleeping and distracting myself by listening to music, watching tv, going online, playing computer games. If I don't do something I fall victim to boredom hunger, and that is not a good reason to eat. Ok, I read this and I know it probably sounds weird, but that's ok, we all have our little oddities. LOL
