When you apply for a job online or submit your resume to a company for a job posting. Do you follow-up by calling the company's HR department if you get no reply after a week or after a specified deadline for submitting applications? Just Curious, SFC

When just submitting my resume I don't follow up for an interview, some companies call for a phone interview and then schedules you for an actual interview, that's the time I follow up if ever they don't call after a few days or week.

Yes I did when I was looking for work, if you take any job search program they will tell you that it increases your chance of getting a job. good discussion.

If it's something I really want or something I wouldn't want to pass up then I would call to follow up on it. I usually wait about a week to call them. Two weeks, at the most.

As a manager I say, YES! So many resumes cross my desk, what makes them stand out is the person. Someone who follows up really wants the job! just let themknow who you are, what you applied for and ask if the position has been filled? Drop somehints on howmuch you would love the job!
