I prefer to read novels, romance, classic and mystery stories... Romance is more heartwarming to read, the classical novel is also good as it takes me back in time that I haven't seen and never knew..and the mystery novels makes me wonder and think cleverly. The special thing about reading is those novels is that it enrich my vocabularies, teach me new things and gives me ideas that I might not have in mind. So, how about you, What kind of books do you prefer to read? What so special about it?

Yeah, the same with love to read romance novels too. It was quite romantic and enjoying to read. But I also love to read classic novels - my favorite are Anne of Green Gables series and Pride and Prejudice, mystery novels like Sherlock Holmes and science fiction and fantasy novels like Harry Potter or Neil Gaiman's novels. I really love reading these kinds of books,it was really entertaining and I quite agree with you it really helps and enrich more of our English vocabularies.

I read anything and everything once it seems interesting. I'm a voracious reader and just love reading. I do agree that reading does enrich ones vocabulary and open your eyes to new things

I love reading romance stories[Mills and Boon], PGWodehouse, stories in my regional language[romance, historical, and thought provoking articles and also household tips]. I choose some light reading though I do like some abstract concepts presented in a lucid manner with colorful comparisons. I love profound truths as written by Shakespeare or some other poets. I love wit and satire too. I love jokes, nature poetry and meaningful short stories . I like to read fairy tales and fables.

I like the inspirational or motivational books. I just finished reading "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne and it has really motivated me to think positive and to put negative thoughts at bay. I will try to apply its main tenet, the law of attraction, and will really see the difference it will make in my life. Another related book is "The Alchemist", which was written by Paulo Coelho.

I really enjoy reading romantic novels or novels about the old west. They are the best and make me imagine all sorts of things when I read them. They are very exciting as well to read because they usually feature romance as well as old western style shoot outs. Have a Great day.

I read the same kind of books that you do. Well, used and want to. However, my current job has me preoccupied with textbooks so I no longer have time to read those books that I really like.

For a long time, Ksha777, I preferred to read horror books. Now, over the last few years, I have found myself reading more and more non-fiction historical books and also a many biographies.

I kind of have different preferences as time goes by. Maybe I have different reading stages in my life which I think is okay since I get to read a lot of genres. When I was in high school, I would prefer reading romance novels and teen novels such as Sweet Valley series and Sweet Dreams. I would also read teen thrillers like Christopher Pike and Fear Street series. I found them easy reads and entertaining. And then I moved into more adult books and I really liked the John Grisham books. I'm not sure what is his genre (maybe, lawyer books? hehe). His was more serious and I love learning new stuffs but mostly are for law which is not my line of work so I really didn't fine any much use for them. haha! And now, I read different kinds of books but mostly I'm geared towards fantasy books such as Dragonlance and the Dungeons and Dragons series, Harry Potter series, Tolkien books and the like. They are so fun to read and they also enhances my vocabulary. I guess all in all, no matter what kind of book you read, it enhances your imagination and also helps you improve your vocabulary. :)

I like classics, and I enjoy reading different authors- especially if they've been highly recommended. I am currently reading Midnight's Children by Salmon Rushdie and it is pretty good!

My absolute favorite books are "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer", and "Huckleberry Finn", both written by Samuel Clemens aka "Mark Twain". Although both books have been banned in American schools, due to the "n" word for a slave, being used, they are both fascinatingly realistic looks at what Missouri, and the southern United States was truly like back in the 19th century. It's truly a shame that either of these books were banned because they actually taught a lesson against racial bigotry, quite the opposite of what our "educated elite" assumed.

Hmm, there are so many books that I want to read! I like suspense thrillers, mysteries, biographies, and funny books. There is nothing like a good suspense thriller to really immerse myself in. I try to figure out where the plot is going. I see suspense thrillers as sort of a challenge. The same goes for mysteries, can I figure out who did it? Funny books are just nice, fluff reads that get me smiling and entertain me. Biographies are fascinating, love reading those, too. Take care, ksha777 and enjoy your reading. PearlGrace

Romance, as you said, is very heartwarming. It's like you can feel the very emotion of the characters in the story, so I like reading romance novels. I also love reading fictions. It's very fun to read. Not can it only enrich your vocabulary but it also can make you imagine the events that are happening in the story. It also helps you broaden your imagination. Many people love to read books. Novels, poetry, fictions, name it! But there is one thing that they have in common: They can NEVER live without reading!!!
