I am so cheap I will suffer until I can't stand the heat anymore before I will turn the air on and raise my electric bill. With this crazy weather we have been having I have not had to turn it on. Do you use your air all summer? Are you as cheap as I am and wait it out and only use it when you have to?

I wish I could but my husband is used to things being cold now since he works in an office environment and they keep it so freezing cold there that he has to run a little space heater to keep warm, even if it 120F outside! Even keeping it at 76 is too warm for him now. On the upside, in the winter I can keep it at 68 or 66 without a complaint for him. And that's from the man who used to like it toasty warm, lol. It's interesting how your office environment can influence your home environment and your preferences...

I don't have central air, only a room a/c in my bedroom. I do typically turn that on everynight, because without a fan in the window, it gets very warm in there. What's sad is sometimes the kids rooms are cooler than mine because they have fans. But it is a pain to remove the a/c and put in a fan on the nicer nights.

Its good that you try to save.I do to at times.SOmetimes it gets cold in the mornings so I have to turn them off until noon. Now when I am going to bed at night I turn my air conditioner up to 68 degrees as it can get cold up thier at times.I usually turn the ac off in the two rooms downstairs that I have then in at night when we all go to bed or I will turn it down to low.I have energy saver on 2 of my air conditioner so it is energy efficient in helping save money too when they have energy saver on them.

I wouldn't call you cheap... A lot of people do that & some days, you just don't need the air... Unfortunately for me, I need to keep it on... I usually keep the temp. of the house around 60 - 65... I have a medical condition, something to do with chemical condition that my body doesn't regulate it's own temp. too well so I need to keep myself cold...
