What do you think of this birthday gift for a 4 year old (my son's best friend)? I made 2 homemade gift bags made out of paper bags and decorated it with cut outs of colored coloring sheets out of different coloring books (my son helped color). In the homemade gift bags, I stuffed them with: - 1 small bottle of bubbles - 1 box of crayons - 3 jumbo sized coloring/activity books - 1 box of Apple Jacks (one of his favorite cereals) - 1 box of Scooby Doo snacks (one of his favorite snacks) - 1 8-pack Juicy Juice boxes (one of his favorite drinks) - 1 small bag of Cheetos (one of his favorite snacks) What do you think?

I think that is one pretty awesome gift. 4 year olds are happy with anything and that gift sounds pretty yummy too. I wish I would get a gift like that. But good job he'll be really happy with his gift.

Yeah that's what my sister said when I asked for her opinion. She said she loves foods. At least the gifts that we gave him will be used, instead of sitting on the shelf, regifted or returned.

Yeah it's true it'll be things that he can use and eat. And not stuff that won't even be used or anything.

that was a grea idea, and believe it or not a 4 year old would rather have a box of a bunch of small toys than to have only one toy that they will have to play with. so that is actually a good idea, the next time i get ready to buy a gift for my son or a friend then i will use that idea. if thats ok.

Of course that's ok! Feel free to use my idea anytime :-) My son received only 1 toy from his son's best friend's parents and he only played with it a few times. I checked the price of the moon sand toy and it was $25+ All the little gifts that I included in the his homemade gift bags that I spent were all under $25.

That sounds pretty good. i did something like that for my daughters friends. She had two birthay parties this spring. I made them both up gift bags with summer activities. I put in bubbles, jump ropes, sidewalk chalk and other outside summer stuff. they really seemed to enjoy it.

For a girl's birthday, another suggestion would be to stuff these in her princess theme gift bag: - princess coloring books (they have plenty of the Barbie ones) - crayons (so it motivates her to color her princess coloring books) - princess cereal - princess fruit snacks - princess stickers - princess rice krispie treats If you want to go all the way, wrap them all up individually, so she enjoys unwrapping them :-)
