i always work in day shifts startiong from either 9-5 or 10-6, but i pity the people whu hae to take more than one shift ,especially the night shift, how can they catch up on the sleep, and manage their body to the rchanging timings in their work schedule

My hours vary as I work part time. My hours this week are as follows: - 10am to 6pm (twice) - 9am to 1pm (once) - 5pm to 9pm (once) - 10am to 2pm (once) I tend to get up between 6am and 8am and go to bed between 10pm and 12pm.

I've always loved working. Doing many shifts, rotation or night shift is easy to do, when you just schedule them well. Plus I was and am still young and loved what I did. That had to help, I woke up every morning or night eager and willing to get to work.

I work from 9 - 5.30 with an hour for lunch but we have flexible working hours which means we can work say from 8 - 4.30 or 10 - 6.30 which works well for the early risers or those who can't get out of bed early (like me most days haha). I have never done shift work, working in an office environment tends to be between 9-6 so I've always worked around those hours. My husband works in transport so he does shift work, sometimes starting as early at 4am or working nights (which is quite rare). He is used to it but I do feel sorry for him when he has to wake up at 2.30am to start work at 4 in the cold months, but he seems ok with it :)

Ya i also do the same.I can completely understand the problems of working in odd shifts as my brother also does the same. His schedule is very tight and its very strange when he sleeps the whole day and then when we are going to sleep he goes to work.It is really very problematic.

I work on graveyard shifts usually 10pm to 7am. Very exhausting but its part of my commitment when I applied. And I'm well compensated too so its fine with me. But I dont want this to be forever. Of course I want a regular office shift too.

I work either 7.15am to 3.15pm or 1.40pm to 9.40pm and I do different days from week to week. I usually know at least a week in advance which shift/days I'm doing and I like the mix. (tho a 'late' followed by an 'early' can be a bit tiring)
