Verification of Paypal Link to Your Bank Account

It just crossed my mind. What will happen if you made a mistake on the Institution and Bank account number you supplied to Paypal? I checked my statement of account and supplied these information to Paypal without checking with my bank manager. Will I get a chance to correct if it the verification process failed?Just asking,

paypal sends a small amount, to check if you do not see it in your bank account then it is not a valid account number and they will tell you so and you can add a new account number

When I did it and had a problem with a certain part of the account number, I called my bank manager and askd her to varify. When the problem arose PayPal just dind't go through with the account. They were somehow aware that the number did not exist, and so I couldn't link the two accounts. After a quick call to the bank everything worked out just fine.
