i prefer using wodden spoons while cooking as it reduces the scratch on my vessels especially tefflon coated vessels and it is also good i n the sense you can avoid burns on your hand when you accidentally take a hot steel spoon form your vessel

For me, it depends on in which vessel I am cooking. Most of my cooking is done in non stick vessels and for them I use wooden or plastic spoons. There are some steel utensils I have which occasionally are used, for them I use steel sppons. For serving food however I always prefer steel spoons, food sticks less to them and they can be cleaned better too.

I will use plastic or wooden most of the time. Every once in a great while I will use metal spoons. If I use a metal one, I usually try to find one that has a plastic handle, that way it doesn't burn when you take it out. My husband has gotten a full metal spoon out of a pot before and burnt his hand. It wasn't bad, It was just hot. I always laugh at him for doing that.

I use both but I usually prefer wooden spoons also. I don't have any teflon pans but still like the wood better...doesn't heat up, scratch, non-reactive, and doesn't make a lot of clanging/scratching noise.

I use either wooden or hard plastic spoons when cooking. Most of the time I use wooden. I only use the hard plastic ones when the heat on something is not turned up too high.
