mineral makeup

Does anybody know why this works so well? I tried it recently, and it looks better and stays on better than that guky liquid makeup. It just doesn't make sense for that to be so. What I tried was a sample, so I'd love to know if anyone can tell me the best brand(s) and how to use it correctly.

I tried I.D. and it was ok but I found it messy and didn't feel I got as good of coverage as I have splotchy skin. They suckered me in when I was watching late night infomercials! But I do hear it is better for you and the brand seems to back up their product with returns if you are not satisfied

I wanted to try this make up but was hesitant. Does it really work? I thought it would me light for summer instead of the liquid foundation.
