The 4th of You Lie?

I have heard so many "theories" about the history of America and such that I am now confused about the 4th of July? What does it mean to you to be able to celebrate the 4th of July in America?

I take a moment on the 4th of July to whisper a little prayer that I am an American. Other than that I must confess I don't make it into a big deal. I try to take my daughter to see the fireworks show and just spend time with family.
