annoying felines

I have two cats-a brother and sister duo named Bandit and Dottie. They're the exact opposite of one another. Dottie is the runt; she's so small and skinny we laugh and call her our 'little squirt'. Her brother is a big lazy lump that would prefer to just sleep all day long. The only thing they decide to do together is be annoying. They're the kind of cats who want to wake you up at four in the morning so you can pet them or feed them. It's cute when you think about it, but it's so annoying when you're the one being woken up! Does anyone else have this issue? Or do I just have dysfunctional felines? Here's the link to a cute and hilarious video for anyone who loves their cats! http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LnlvdXR1Y29tL3dhdGNoP3Y9dEw3QT1sQW53XzQ Enjoy!

You must see this video cartoon. I just think it is so funny. We have three cats and one of them acts just exactly like this. http://video.aol.com/video-detail/waking-up-with-a-cat/3191688309 Our dog also wakes us up but he usually does it by "talking" to us or even odder, "sneezing" to get us to pay attention to him when we would rather sleep.

lol your cats are so cute. my cats would be annoying sometimes too. i've got three cats at home. one is a domestic shorthair girl who is the one in my avatar. one is a domestic longhair boy and the last a cross between a russian blue and a burmese. the longhair boy hates closed doors. he'd meow and meow whenever we close our bedroom door. if he is in, he'd meow to be let out. less than five minutes he'll meow to be let in again. he can do this all night long. so now we don't close our bedroom door at all. my girl will wake me up if she is bored. not in the middle of the night though. she'd see the sun come in and decide that it's time for me to wake up.

You are not alone. My cats are sisters and they seem to hate each other most of the time. Occasionally we catch them sleeping together which leads us to believe that deep down they love each other. They are indoor cats and one is more dominant than the other and we always find scratches on the less dominant one so we think they have a love/hate relationship. This morning one of them woke me up at 0530 to tell me she was hungry. Meanwhile the other was in the living room trying to kill my plants. I think your cats must be normal or mine too are abnormal!

Hi intheclouds, welcome to mylot and enjoy your stay here. I had a cat and a dog that do that. They wake me up at 7 to feed them lol. It was good for me because I never waked up later lol. Have a nice day and welcome.

I have a Josie alarm clock. She also tells me when I should go to bed. I love it. I enjoy catering to her wishes. She is usually right about bedtime, and she has learned that when she wakes me too early, I just grab her and hug her. She sings me to sleep with her purr also. The other three generally ignore me except when it's food time.
