i recently saw a news featuring a ritual from another country about tossing less than a yr old babies from a high place (i am not sure if they have a specific place for this, but from what i saw they are tossing the baby from a white bldg) down to a white sheet being held by a group of men. it is part of their culture. they say it will bring luck to the parents and the babies. they said baby tossing have caused no injuries. seeing the baby being tossed from a high place gave me chills! i'm just concerned, they might get hurt. i am not against rituals or cultures of others because i know that we all have our own differences and right to have our own styles in life. i am just scared for the babies and what might happen to them...

Here is what I found online about it. It seems pretty crazy to me. In the Indian village of Solapur, residents mark the birth of a new child by tossing the newborn from a 50 foot Muslim shrine onto a sheet below. The bizarre tradition is over 500 years old. Reports say despite the danger, there are no reports of any babies being injured during the ritual.

It just seems like such a risk and not worth one to take . Glad no baby has ever been hurt that would just be so sad, and tragic

Hi , There are so many differet types of world culture out there , and what seems common to them might seem very uncommon to that . That does worry me though what they do and seems like such a risk for such a small sweet baby , ya know . I read something below and there are no reports on any baby getting hurt . Sounds little risky to me though
