files and folders not opening...

help me out guys..i loaded fresh windows xp and it ran ok..now the prob is..i m not able to open anything..no file , no folder...though they are occupying their space..what is the prob?

So, what happens when you try? Anything? Is there an error message?

Let me get this straight, when you said "loaded fresh", did you mean you formatted the hard disk and installed windows xp? Or did you upgrade your previous windows operating system to windows xp? if you did the former, then there could have been no existing user folders. If you did the latter, you may encounter opening existing folders and files because it was created by a different user or profile. Make sure you are an administrator so you can access it:)

can it be different format prob...like NTFS or FAT32 difference..does that create any kinda prob???
