I think it's horrible for people to be hired or not hired based on height or any other physical attribute. I mean, there are certain careers that might require a person to be tall, but I'm guessing that 90% of careers it really doesn't matter! I mean, yes, if you want to be in the NBA, you need to be tall, but if you want to be a professional accountant, office staff, doctor, pretty much anything else I don't think that height should matter! Tall people aren't necessarily smarter than short people, actually, in some cases short people have to be smarter because unlike their tall peers, they had to focus only on their studies in school because they weren't athletes. Not to say there aren't smart athletes, it's just a lot of high school jocks tend to goof off and get away with it. Truth is, everyone needs a job at some point, and it's hard enough to get experience without being judged based on height or appearance! I am 5'0, and I am terrified for the day I have to try to get a job, because since I am not tall and skinny with long legs and a big chest I have to worry that my mind won't be enough, therefore, I guess I won't deserve the job. I think the problem with your boss is, he is trying to overcompensate for his insecurities by taking it out on applicants. Maybe early in his career he got turned down a lot and now he wants others to have to deal with it! The thing is, it's considered unacceptable to not hire someone based on race, gender, age, nationality, disability, etc. But these people still find ways around hiring people who don't live up to *their* standards as far as height and stuff goes. It's just awful!

i agree with indianpedi he/she has a point there, height do matters in some respective fields like what he/she said. The most of them are those who are in fields of Armed Forces. The Namy, army, police and even flight attendants. But i also agree to qhwater, because there are also fields that the height doesn't matter.Examples of that are those who are in the offices, IT professionals who can dominate and navigate a one big company. Its just my own point of view, if im wrong, please correct me..

i do not think so. the person's height has little effect to his career, except he meets some snobby partner. in my office, the highest one is 198cm and the shortest one is 148cm. both of them did very well. and someone said that most short persons are clever.
