How many accidents have you had as a driver?

I've been driving for about 20 years. When I had my first car, a little old man drove onto my side of the road & took my wing mirror (& his own) off - he said I was going too fast (in second gear having just moved off?? I dont think so). About 7 years ago, a truck with a cattle grid drove into the back of me whilst I was stopped at a pedestrian crossing and, last November, a taxi turned left behind me ...but faster - so hit me & sent me into a line of parked cars. Luckily, I suffered nothing worse than whiplash .

I've been driving now for almost 36 years and I haven't had so much as a parking ticket. There were times when I drove just a little to fast or I wasn't paying attention and had things been different, it could have been costly. Anyway I'm still here and I'm still driving. Life here is almost impossible without a car.

i've not had any sort of ticket either ... wouldn't have had the accidents if those 3 guys had been looking where they were going

I have been driving for over 40 years and all I can think of is one accident. A teenager who had only had her license for a couple of weeks pulled out in front of me at a corner and I hit her. Fortunately no one was hurt, but I was mad because they said it was my fault, since she was on my right. The thing was she was coming from a side street, never slowed down and just pulled right out in front of me onto a main street. So to prove my point, we went to court. Guess what, I proved them wrong and they took it off my record and her insurance company had to pay for my car repairs! Sometimes it doesn't hurt to fight for what you know is right! I feel fortunate that I have not had any other accidents. (Knock on wood)!

Glad you got justice!! The driver who hit me at the crossing admitted fault and it was all sorted quickly but, this latest one is dragging on as there is a problem with the taxi driver's insurance. I'm currently about £500 out of pocket and getting it back would be handy right now!

I've never been in a car accident fortunately. I've been awfully close a few times but I've never actually hit another car. I did bump into a tree one time but it wasn't a big deal so I don't count that. I know people my age that have had tons of accidents and some that have totaled cars and I really don't see how that would be possible.

I have been driving for 7 years and i have had no accident so far. And of course, I wish i have none the next years too. The thought of car accidents makes me much worried, but I guess theres nothing we can really do.

When I got hit at the crossing, I was only about a mile from home - just coming back from the shops. I hope you stay safe driving.

Good plan ...just watch out for those unpredictable idiots who've been let loose on our roads. Safe motoring.
