There are a lot of people over the net who says that Linux is one of the safest Operating Systems available. A friend told me that he tried to run a computer on Linux and another on a windows system (I think it was XP). The result, as he said, was that the one running on Linux run faster, from start-up to opening an application program, like Adobe Photoshop. The one running Windows was, as expected, slower.

Adobe Photoshop doesn't run in Linux. Even if it did it's a bloated program which always starts slowly. The Linux equivvelant, GIMP, is actually slower and less user friendly.

whatever I have heard from my friends from that they can conclude that Linux is a very stable and safe operating system. It has features which are very helpful in all respects and which makes it one of the very good operating systems in the market. It is just that it is a a bit complicatedthan the Windows operating system and that is the reason why a lot of users think that they will not be able to understand how this operating system was tough apart from that there are some compatibility problems with the operating system which can resolve but it needs a bit of updates and other things.

In theory, all Linux distributions are the same (they all use a Linux kernel). All of them can read Windows partitions and all can see Windows/Linux machines on a network. Ubuntu/Kubuntu seems to be a popular "newbie" distribution nowadays with graphical user interfaces for almost everything, while a distribution like Slackware is a little more spartan. It really boils down to your own preference. There isn't so much difference as people would like to make you believe ;-)

I don't think it's user friendly unless you are an expert! you should stay with windows the major operating system because of all the support you can get with it

Linux is really for experts and people interested in learning a new OS. It's not as user friendly as Windows regardless of which distro you try. If your only computer use involves surfing the web, writing emails, and writing documents in Word, it can be a reasonable alternative. For anything else, such as gaming, it will just frustrate you. If you're really curious I would recommend downloading a live CD of the linux distro that would come with that laptop. A live CD loads the OS without writing anything to your computer. That way you can test it safely to see how comfortable you are with it. Here is a website where you can download a live CD of Mepis. In my experience it is the most user friendly and dependable of Linux distros. http://www.mepis.org/mirrors

I suggest you that you should remove the linux form your laptop, the linux isn't suit you. Most of software can't run in the linux what you often use.The windows application and linux application 's file format are different, when you use the os and you will feel unsuit.
