Do you believe in the paranormal?

Hello all. I'm new to the Mylot family here and figured I'd start out by beginning a discussion on whether or not members believe in the paranormal. Please forgive me if this is a topic that's been beat to death already but as I said..I'm new here. I guess my interest started back in the mid-90's when I became a big fan of the TV show The X-Files and it's continued ever since. I've recently become a fan of Ghost Hunters and it's renewed my interest and my curiousity with such a topic. I can honestly say that I've never experienced anything that I believe to be paranormal but I know that there are many out there who have. Without having such a personal occurance, it's difficult for me to say yes I believe or no I don't (although I lean towards the "yes" side). All this being said, do you believe in the paranormal and if so, why? If you don't, why not? Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to your responses!

Yup. I do believe in the paranormal. But I think it'll be scientifically proven in time. Right now we just don''t have everything we need to figure it all out. I am not freaked out by it, as I see it as something natural and normal? I look forward to a time when we will be able to understand more about it all.

Good points Gargoyle. I too think that science is getting closer to proving it all the time. I think it will be REALLY interesting to see how the world reacts once the proof is finally fed to the public. As for being freaked out, I'd be interested to know how many people are freaked out by it and how many people embrace it. Personally I'm not freaked out either. In fact, it intrigues me to want to experience something myself even more with each passing day. Anyhow, thanks for the reply and have a great day!

No I don't. I know many people will claim they have these strange happenings that they can't explain, but until that happens to me I'm not buying it. I live in a city, so I'm not out in the middle of nowhere in a haunted house or anything like that. So maybe I just haven't been in the right circumstances, but again, I don't believe in it.

I can totally appreciate this bucket. It's hard for most of us to get on board with things like this without having any personal evidence or experience to back it up. Perhaps some day you and I will BOTH have a personal experience... I for one cannot wait!

I too am new here and have found some of the discussions interesting. Yes, I believe in the paranormal. I have had experiences that I can't explain. I've had my bathroom towels rearranged when I was the only one home, the sound of my front door openning and shutting again when I was home alone. Sometimes I get errie feelings when I'm in some places and don't know why. I don't consider myself a "sensitive" but I do believe in the paranormal, ghosts and things that go bump in the night. I think that if your open minded, these things have a way of finding you sometimes. I love to read and watch things on the topic. I watch Ghost Hunters and other programs every week. Maybe someone that has had some really interesting events will join in.

I think you mention a KEY factor here and that's keeping an open mind. If you let the "possibility" that things like this exist into your head, perhaps it's a little easier to deal with.
