Eating At Home - Or Eating Out

Which one do you prefer? Which one is cheapest? Do you enjoy eating food cooked at home, knowing what is in the food or had you rather go out to eat or have it delivered? You run the risk of not knowing what is in the food or how healthy it is when you eat out? Is it cheaper to grab one of those dollar items on the fast food menu or is it cheaper to buy your own food and prepare it at home? Which is best for you?

i prefer eating at home. i like to eat out but i am alone & it's no fun to go out & eat by yourself. i use to think eating out was more expensive but w/the rising cost of food at the grocery i don't know which would be the cheapest now. of course if u use all the fast food coupons that areinthe paper it's probably cheaper to eat out but i don't need all that fast food & would get tired of it in a hurry.

Oh I prefer eating at home too lady. It's far less expensive to do so, although, I sometimes get tired of cooking what seems like all the time. I like breaks.

Hello, terilee! I never like to foods outside.as fromthe nutritional aspects nothing can replace the freshly cooked balanced wholesome meals prepared at home.the restaurant foods or foods of the fast foods centers are not conducive to health.these foods can contribute to an array of diseases.they play a major role in lifestyle disorders like diabetes, blood pressure and obesity.thanx.

You're right bbsr. You just don't know what ingredients are in something when you eat out. It's amazing.

Hi terrilee, I like to cook!! I really like to cook when I have people who like to eat. My husband and I like to eat at home most of the time. We will order in if the grandkids are over and want some pizza or something like that. We have it delivered. They get such a big kick out of having pizza at Grandma and Grandpa's. Just for us, we eat in. He is diabetic and will not follow a diet of any kind. He eats whatever he wants, any time that he wishes. Myself, I have such a love for Ceasar Salads. I have one every day possible. As for cheap, fresh fruits and vegetables are not cheap by any means. I shop the farmer's market, and watch to see which stores have a variety on sale. I try to only buy what we can eat in a few days, so it does not go to waste. For staples, I buy in bulk, and share with other family members. Reduces the grocery bill for most of us. Fast food is ok, few and far between. It is convenient, cheap, and quick. But is it good for you? The jury is still out on that one. LOL Have a nice day..

I love to cook too crazy. When we used to have lots of family that would come over, the biggest joy was cooking a huge meal and having everyone enjoy it. Now, with most of the gone or grown, I still love cooking just for the two of us. Eating out is better when it can be brought home. I don't like the atmosphere of the restaurants and I'm not into big crowds much these days.

Hi, I prefer home cooked meals with my family, I love to cook and love to try new things (recipes). I think it is better, healthier and you get to save a lot of money. My son loves take outs (what kid doesn't) but he knows that we only order in or go out on special occasions like birthdays.

Me too mamuzo. I know it's better and healthier. Sometimes I like to take a break from cooking though.

both have disadvantages and advantages. i do enjoy eating at home. i can cooked the food i want to eat and at least i know how was the food prepared. one more thing is that it is more comfortable eating at home. the bad side is your going to clean everything, from pots to utensils. on the other hand eating in a resto provides a new environment, especially if you have visitors and of course you dont have to worry of those utensils. however sometimes the food we want to eat have a different taste that is far from waht we want and the bad side is we dont know how was this food being prepared.. so i still prefer eating at home..

I enjoy both! I think I would eat out more if I had the money to do it. If I had a great kitchen to cook in then I would probably enjoy cooking more. So I think I could go either way. Food made at home is always better, but sometimes the cooking it takes the joy out of eating it.
