I too learned to type in high school. I worked in an office for quite a while too. I do not look @ the keyboard either. I am fixing to take a med billing & coding class. I was thinking of taking a med trans course as well. Do you like doing that? Does it pay well? I'm just curious about it. I understand you can work from home doing the med billing, can you w/the med trans too?

yes, absolutely comfortable and they pay well too..i have been working in-house in an office before marriage, after marriage, i started doing home editing, i have been in MT for the past 10 years...and i am still continuing with it, so you can decide how comfortable the profession would be for me

Typing is my weak point as i don't have typing speed and haven't done any short hand course in typing as i take some time here while responding or posting my threads and if i ahd more typing speed, it woudl ahve helped me here as i could have postede more and participated more as i am struggling here to find letters in keyboard while typing...lolz

I do pretty far not looking at the keys. Even with the backspace key which i have learned to use just like the letter keys. But there are times when I make mistakes moving to fast and have to slow down a little to go back and correct the mistakes that I have made while typing. I think if I work at it I could to a little better with not making mistakes. The there are times if I don't look a the screen I seem to type better and make less mistakes. That is hard sometimes cause when I look bac at the screen I have fewer mistakes than when I 'm looking at the screen. Have a good one.

Even though i take typing classes, I learned how to type without looking and fast on my own. I am a very experienced typer and I can type 70-100 words a minute if I want to get the job done fast. The only problem with me typing is that i make a lot of grammar mistakes when I type fast so it's only useful if I'm on Microsoft Word because i correct it in the end even though I tend to make a lot of mistakes.

I learned to type in high school and don't normally look at the keboard unless I'm typing numbers. When I was taught to type we did repetitive routines with each finger so now they know where they're supposed to go all by themselves and I don't have to really think about it. I just have to remember how to spell.

I learned to type rather fast in high school. I was in a business marketing type of class and I think I learned how to type there for some reason lol. Anyway, it really helped because I have so many papers to write in school and I don't want to spend all day on the computer.
