Exercise in moderation is a wonderful thing. You do not have to spend hours in a gym to get great results. I am a personal trainer, and my clients are amazed at the results they can get from small amounts of exercise. The most important things are to have a systematic approach to exercise, do the exercises correctly, work all the major muscle groups, and be consistent. Correct form is much more important than how much weight you can lift, and being consistent will get you results. Yes, too much exercise can be harmful, especially of you are not taking care of yourself in other ways and not doing the correct type of exercise for you. I am always available to answer fitness questions (no, I dont charge for that...). Just do something, do it correctly, and do it regularly, and you WILL get results!

I get so happy when I've made it the week in the gym I seriously do not want to stop because it just feels so good, can you get a natural high from exercise, I felt that from hiking too before I had my gym membership.

well i don't do regular exercise as i'm pretty lazy. also because i couldn't really find an exercise that suits me. most exercises are impactful and i don't really like that. it's bad for the joints. i've got a friend whose wife is living in constant pain now. she does competitive running in her younger days. but now her joints are paying the price. the impact is simply too great and as a result, she is in pain most of the time. our joints are simply not made to take this kind of impact. look at our closest cousins, they don't run as much as human beings. we are made to forage and gather, maybe even hunt still. but definitely not made to chase after our prey like the big cats do. i do try to walk as much as i can. i do brisk walking so that my heart rate goes up. but that's the extend of my exercise attempt. it's good enough for me and my joints don't suffer so much. cheers ;p

Exercising is a very good thing, and keeps the body in shape, but you should take a rest and let the muscles rest at least twice a week. If a person over exercises than they won't get the most out of a workout, because the muscles will be to tired.

Exercise really is important. Gives us energy and makes us very active. However, I do agree that sometimes, too much is not good. We all have limits when it comes to exercises. For some people, their bodies can endure a certain type of the highest impact exercises. Some can last longer and some will have a hard time even for just a minutes especially those who are starting or not used to exercising regularly. I may not be entirely accurate about pyshiochemical harm as you've mentioned. It would probably involve anaerobic exercises which tend to increase the heart rate more. It may affect the circulatory system if not properly done. It should not be done for a very long amount of time. It should be just about 1 minute or 2 then rest by slowly lowering the intensity. We just have to at least try and know our body's limits. We have different orientation as to what we can tolerate and do. It is better to seek medical advise first before engaging in such activities. Take care.
