Do you like Italian Food?

Pasta - I love Pizza and Pasta
Philippines

I definitely love spaghetti and pizza! My mouth waters with the sight and smell of tomato sauce and pasta! I know it's fattening but I never really cared about my figure as long as I enjoy the food that I eat. I'm not pigging out anyways, LOL. But well, I got disappointed when I realized I have no tongue for the Italian. I mean, I love pasta but my taste is sooooo Filipino. You see, Filipinos are fond of tasty, sweet and spicy pasta. Oh well, I should have known my taste buds are always partial to the Filipino style. Last Saturday night, my friends and I went to an Italian restaurant. I was excited because I though "oh, goodie! pizza and pasta, my favorite!" When we started eating though, my ignorant taste buds made me look stupid. You can't imagine the horror on my friends' faces when I told them I wanna ask ketchup from the waiter. They all chorused a "No!". I told them I cannot enjoy the food, it looks yummy and it is, but I want a tastier and sweeter spaghetti. They told me Italian Chefs will feel insulted if I ask for ketchup. Sigh.. I would have known that was how the experience will go. I have nothing against Italian taste.. The food is delicious, but I was not just used to it. How about you? Do you like Italian food?

Hihi, I am pretty okay with Italian food. I don't like it a lot or hate it a lot. I guess I like it a bit more than average. I quite enjoy the occasional pizza, pasta or lasagna. But not too often, mind you lol!

Some of it the pizza and spaghetti. But as we all know if an italian food comes to our country it make a different taste already because they will suit it to the taste of the people living in that country. But if we go to restaurant that is really italian maybe i would also like some of there food.

Hahaha, If I were you, I should still ask for ketchup because nobody can told me how I should taste the food. I love spaghetti and lasagna but in my own style, which is like yours sweet and spicy and nothing but sweet and spicy that's all... Hehehe I would still insist to have a ketchup even if it means insulting the Italian chefs, I am the customer right... Go ahead girl, satisfy your taste bud.

Well, yeah, I should have go all the way to satisfy my taste buds, but I don't wanna make a scene, lol, most of the customers are Italian, hehehe. Next time I eat there I'll bring my own ketchup, hahaha! Wouldn't that heat the Chef up? :-P

My father is Sicilian............ I REST MY CASE!! :) I don't only love to eat it but I LOVE to cook it. My specialties are my lasagna and my meatballs. 3rd generation recipe. Unfortunately, due to my low carb diet I am not eating much of it these days and when I do I have to work out an extra hour just to burn of all those calories!!

Hi my friend, I love italian food as well: spaghetti, pasta, pizza, all call for me to eat them. You are right about it being fattening but unlike you, every calorie I eat sticks to me. lol I must like Filipino food as well but didn't know it. We have one pasta restaurant that makes their own sauce and specializes in their spaghtti. Their sauce is much sweeter than most other tomato sauces I have tasted. I just love it! My hubby likes tomatoe sauces alot too, but does not like the sweet one that I like. Thanks to you, I learned something new today! Have a nice night, Char

Wow! You must have Filipino taste buds as well! :) I'm glad you like the sweet blend pasta, it's my favorite, now you share my faves... Pity though your hubby doesn't like the sweet one, maybe he's an Italian in other life, hehehe. Well, to tell you honestly, the calories stays and shows in my tummy as well, hehehe, but what the heck! I love pizza and pasta! :)

Mmmmm, this is what comes to mind when i think of italian food, the white sauces, cheesy pastas, rissoto, spaghetti, fetuchhine, just irrestible, i mean there are no words to describe the cuisine, inspite of living in a country which runs on spices, still i can anytime vouch for italian as it has its own kind of spices like oregano, thyme, etc which has its own distinctive flavour & taste, i am not sure but i dont think that pizzas was invented by Italians i think Americans where the first to make pizzas with toppings, this is why i am not talkin about pizzas here, anyways i think this is the most delicious gourmet meal anyone on this earth can have.

I'm of Italian decent. I won't eat Italian food out of the house unless the chef is Italian and the place caters to Italians. I prefer southern Italian/ Sicilian cooking to northern Italian foods.

I really enjoy Italian food. I am not one bit Italian myself as far as I know. I have always enjoyed Italian sauce, pasta and the like. I like buttery rigatonis with red sauce. Sometimes you can add some sugar to your pasta sauce. It really adds a good flavor to it. I wasn't aware that the Filipinos enjoyed sweet and spicy pasta. Sure sounds good.

Ah, people are too full of themselfs when it comes to cooking. It's the same thing to me, as you going to a resturant, getting toast and being told that it is the best toast there is and it would be an insult to get butter. So you have to eat it dry! I like italian food, raviolies are my favourite:D
