I own a service company and work 50+hours a week. I don't see any depression. New customers call every week. I work. That is how I save money. The company is expanding this year. I've been talking about it since the beginning but a client asked us for the service. So we are expanding for them. It will expand my working season into December and January. Then I don't work at all in February. Now we are paying off credit cards. I paid mine off today and going to close the account. I am also a powerseller on ebay. This takes 20-60 hours per week. I work to save money. That is the easiest way. The work is out there if you are able and want to do it. I am always looking for a good employee. If someone worked hard and fast I would get them all the work I could find. The problem I have found is that people do not want to work. That might be the problem with the "recession". Less workers means less money to spend.

It is a landscaping company. My business thrives because people are too lazy, don't have the time or they are unable to physically perform the work involved. I decided to start a landscaping company specializing in design, installation and maintenance of flower beds. I do everything I can. I started the company with tools that I had acquired during my hobby phase. The only money I invested was $25 for a lawnmower and $5 for a weed eater. $30 total investment to start. Ambition is what most people lack. Some talent is needed for what I do but it doesn't take much to mow a lawn. Believe me there are people who can't mow a lawn. I've seen a lot of sloppy work and have had to cut some hours because believe it or not, there are people who can not mow a lawn. I guess they are blind or just don't care.

I'm working as an office staff in a private company, as you know the salary is not really big in that position. Yes you are right almost every prices high. This also gives me the urge and idea to keep saving!, who knows what will happen next, so better be ready. I must admit my savings are also affected but I still managed to save a little hundreds in my personal savings account. It needs a lot more discipline and budgeting. I also try to look for some more extra income to finance some of our needs. Thanks and have good day ahead...

Well thankfully to avoid giving tax to Government some compulsory saving is required, that is the only way one can save.Regarding fuel prices they have increased enormously and to save on that expenditure at times in the institute I just keep my vehicle and go to other building walking, earlier I used to use vehicle for going from one place to another.

Some of us are on fixed incomes so there is not a lot to save. And now with the price of gas so high and climbing, and then the price of grocerys have about doubled in the past few months, there is nothing to save. We have changed our going out and visiting friends and family so often, save on gas. We dont' eat the way we used to, but buy pork chops and hamburger and chicken. It hard to afford beef. I go to Kroger's here and they have the meat that they have put out during the day around 5pm they mark it all down and put out fresh. I try to shop at that time and I can get a whole bunch of meat cheap, mind you it is the meat from the day, not expired meat. I've started shopping at Aldi's which is a store where you have to bag your own groceries but potatoes and peppers and milk and eggs are so much cheaper and what else we need that has gone up in price so much we just do with out.

It's much easier for saying than doing. To save 1 dollar, maybe a cup of coffee or an icecream. We'd better change our habits. To pay more effort to earn more money and pay attention to every expense.
