Are the Banners you added to your MyLot profile making your page very Wide?

Ok, you've figured out how to add banners to your profile, but the more you add, the wider your page gets. Do you like the way this looks? If you do, congratulations, you did what you set out to do. For those of you that don't, and would like to know an easy way to fix this problem, please continue reading. The problem You have to enter a return "signal" after pasting in the code you've copied from the site you want to promote. Think of it like a carriage return on a manual typewriter if any of you remember those, lol. The Fix In most cases you can use the greater than/less than keys to "bracket" either BR for a hard return which gives you a small amount of room between your stacked banners or a p to signal a soft return that keeps your banners stacked nice and compactly. *** Very Important**** Whichever you use as a seperator, be sure to add a hard return code (and hit enter) at the end of your edited entry. Then click on save changes & it should show up correctly. In case, you've experienced issues with your changes not showing up after being saved, this is how to prevent most of those occurances. My suggestion would be to just add the bracketed p between each of your banner codes and a hard return (and enter) at the end to let the system know you completed your changes before clicking save. Should be a fast & easy fix.

Glad to see you're adding banners to your profile but I noticed that you're using the / forward slashes / around your p instead of the bracket. While I guess it accomplishes the same thing by stacking them, you may want to consider the brackets instead if you don't want the p to show at the end of each banner.

Hi Paidreader, thank you for this wonderful tip! That's a bit of HTML coding you shared there. Most of the time it is the widest image that will control its width. We could limit this sizes in our HTML sortie but when our friend leave a comment with graphics that are wider, it will still extend. I just wish we could have more control on our profile page. Happy posting.)

Always happy to help ferdzNK. I happened to be visiting a friends profile this evening and noticed that the banners she added to the top of the page were actually the problem. Without the "return" code, the banners were stretched out end to end, instead of one on top of the other in a nice neat stack. Just thought I'd pass along the observation since I've been seeing more and more profiles start to look this way. When your friends leave a message that's considerably wider than you'd like, you do have the option to delete that comment. I'm sure your friend would understand why you had to delete the comment they left, if you explain that their graphic really messed up your page.

Hi Lynn! Last time I tried to fix my profile after your kind advice, I couldn't get it to work for me, so when I saw your discussion on this very same subject, I attempted it again - and it looks like it has worked for me this time! Check out my profile and tell me I fixed it! Thanks again! Abbey x

Hi abbey19. So good to see you again. Hope all is going well with school. Love the new pics, she's absolutely adorable. Took a look at your profile and it looks like it's starting to work. Looks like you still need to put the bracketed between the clixsense banner and the $3 matrix system banner. You will probably need another one after the $3 matrix system so it stacks above the my search funds banner. Remember to take the spaces out of my bracketed p so it works, since MyLot discussions can't contain html code like this or you can't submit the discussion/response. Don't forget to add your WordLinx banner too, lol.

I did what you said Lynn, and I have also added my Wordlinx banner! It all seems to be working well now. I finished school, and passed with a 98% mark! It was quite a challenge for me at my age, so I am feeling good about myself, knowing the old brain still has it, lol! Yes, my granddaughter is gorgeous, but I am biased! (Grandmothers are allowed to be aren't we?) Thanks again my friend.
