I don't even think that looks good. Plus, that type of jewelry is designed with an adult in mind so it might be too big and actually do damage to her teeth if it keeps getting in the way.

OMG... WOW! That is surprising that her mom let her do that, but kinda cool. LOL I think I was just around 13 when I started begging to get my lip pierced, but I didn't get to till I was a little less than a month before I turned 18, so I still had to have consent, my mom was completely ok with it, and she told my dad that he might as well let me, since I could do it when I turned 18 in a few weeks anyway. LOL I've noticed that teens are getting piercings younger and I am cool with that, I just wish my parents would have been that cool 12 years ago when I was 13! LOL But this girl, I wonder how old she is? It's actually kinda cute. But like you, I'm surprised he mom let her. I have always said, that if I have a 12/13 year old and they want a lip, nose or belly button ring I would definitely consent to it, if for nothing else so they don't do it themselves in their friends basement! LOL Also, I am all for people being who they want to be, and a piercing can be taken out. Now, a tattoo, that would be something I would really have to think about. I didn't get my first one till I was 20, so I would want them to be a little older for that, and also know the committment and permanency.

I think it's not good to be influenced at too early ages. This is simply influence. It's not good at all!

Very shocking indeed. I think the girl had her mother's permission already. This girl is too young to have learn about this peircing thing. If i can see it on an adult, i won't mind. But on a young girl? Wait a minute, how could this happen? If this girl has already did something some adult wont do. What if she reach 18, i think she can have peircing all over her body. Brave as can be. This girl should learn a lesson never to emulate the people around here. She was influenced by the people sorrounding her.

Not good, kids play how many times have you bit your lip or fell ect. When we are older we know how to be a bit more careful (some of us do lol) Anyway what if she gets in to a fight or a bully doesnt like her what the first thing they will go for? Ouch and it could disfigure her lip. I say let kids be kids just cause everyone one else is doing it these days parents still have to act like the smart ones.Unfortunatly some parents havent grown up yet themselves.

I would never let my daughter get her lip pierced until she was at least 18 years old its just wrong how some parents arent really parents.

I don't really find this all that shocking to tell you the truth. Other types of cultures have their children get piercings at a very young age, at least she was getting it done in a sterilized enviornment. (or so it looks that way from the picture.) Maybe this is part of her families culture. :)
