I live in Southern California and planted some zucchini's a week ago and have been told it is to late in the season for planting them. However, they have sprounted and are growing. So how late can a person plant zucchini in a mild climate like we have in Southern California?

I think your zucchini will do all right. It grows fast and doesn't mind any weather unless it frosts heavy. Now is a little late for most zones, but anywhere you don't get frost for the next two or three months should give you a good crop.

Thanks for your comment. I am hoping that I get so many zucchini's that it will allow me to give some to my neighbors.

Check the days to maturity on your seed packet. If they will mature at least 2 weeks before first frost, you will get some benefit from them.
