The Dark Knight..not really interesting

Okay, I just got back from seeing this and my thoughts are not that good. This movie is a mess. The editing is really poor and the storyline was too frantic. It's been years since I last started to fall asleep during a movie. I still don't understand why there was so much talking and very little Batman on screen. I've never seen a super hero type movie where you see the main hero make such a small appearance. The only thing that kept me going was Heath Ledger, who is brilliant as the Joker. Okay, so I haven't seen Batman Begins and now I don't even want to. Bale doesn't quite deliver, making him more of a joke than a main interest. I want Michael Keaton back, lol. Personally I think this movie is even worse than Batman Forever. I should have just watched this online. There I said my peace.

OMG YES, I want Michael Keaton back as well!! He was my favourite batman, everyone else just didn't measure up to him. I completely hated Val Kilmer as batman, he creeps me out in every movie he is in, as well as off screen, lol. I haven't seen "The Dark Knight" yet, I think I may actually go see it tonight after work. I have to see it on the big screen because I am a fan of Heath Ledger's work, but I do have to admit Jack Nicholson did a great Joker, I may come out of it with some conflict, lol. I am dissapointed that you say you didn't enjoy it though, because I was hoping to hear the best about this movie. It certainly can't be any worse than watching "The Happening" on the big screen. LMAO, that movie was AWFUL.

Yay another Keaton fan. You are officially my favorite person today, lol. And Val Kilmer creeps me out too, lol. Go see the movie if want to. I only went to support Heath Ledger and that's it. And I'm also a fan of Heath. Finally someone who admits that The Happening was bad! Thank you for that.

I looked forward to this movie and I did note that everyone said a lot for the Joker's performance so that part must be true. I would hate to go to this film and discover that I didn't see enough of Batman himself. Lots of these blockbusters appear to be overrated and I guess, if you spend that kind of money on a film you must get a related kind of publicity. So whats new in the world ?

Yeah, it was pretty tiring to sit through. If you want to see it you can, don't let me affect your thoughts on the film. Who knows you might like it. I just had a problem with the overall picture and lack of proper storytelling. So yeah that's Hollywood for you.

Wow, I totally disagree. I loved this film. I thought it was nice to see a movie with depth rather than having one get by on action. I also really liked Batman Begins. I think they are both excellent films. Both are elegant films that are very well done. I think Christian Bale makes a good Batman and Heath Ledger was excellent as Joker. I think this is the best film I have seen in a year--and I watch a lot of movies.

Ledger was a genius and he will be sorely missed. Maybe I have more of an unbiased view of the film because I have never seen the Batman with Keaton in it.

Never seen the original?? Blasphemy, lol. I'm just kidding. It really is a great film that started the series. Tim Burton is also one of my favorite directors and he's really into everything being dark. His version of Gotham City is just that..gothic. The new one had a corporate New York feeling.

See I honestly didn't get that from watching it. I tried though, honestly, lol. That's cool if you liked it. I really didn't believe Bale as Batman, probably because I really like the Keaton ones and my view is blinded, lol. But I will always remember Ledger for this role, the man was genius.

Did you ask for your $20.00 back? I've heard good and bad, most people went to see it for Heath, forget the dark winged bat.

Nah, I'd never do that. I'm just glad to support films. Plus Heath's acting made it worth it in the end.

My four year old wants to see it. I have heard it may be too dark and scary. Opinion?

I don't know about a four year old, to tell you the truth. The youngest age I saw in the theater was about nine or ten. It really depends on your views on children and violence. The is a lot of shooting and explosions that might bother them.

Thanks for the feedback. I think we may wait to let him see it. Greatly appreciated.

You should see it if you really want to. I still encourage people to see films no matter what quality.

I have actually stopped watching, action, thriller, merchandised films anymore. The hype is more interesting to watch in action than the film ;-) Best think these days is buy films off the net for cents, and you can see some truley brilliant films that have no been re released for decades (the remakes are genuinely not worth seeing) Keep hunting for happiness :-)

I agree with you completely. The hype usually overshadows the movie itself. Lucky for us the internet provides all of your movie watching pleasure. But also even if a movie is visually stunning that doesn't mean it is clever in any way. The average movie goer watches a film for an escape and for entertainment purposes. And then there are those like me who need more than just a pretty picture to get by, you know? I guess I'm just an extreme movie buff and highly critical with what I watch, lol. The Dark Knight is probably good on some level, but I just couldn't find it. And I'm not knocking the film, but I did expect more.

So I seen "The Dark Knight" today and I have to admit the only reason I didn't like it as much as I could have is because of Christian Bale. I keep thinking WHY did they make him Batman?! lol. It's like he is trying to hard when he is talking in his "Batman voice", lol, it's all raspy and just plain ODD at times. Ledger was great, loved him, I always liked his acting anyways though, it's a shame to know we won't get to see him in anymore new movies. :( Overall I did enjoy it. :)

Thank you! Exactly what I kept thinking. He was kind of off putting right? The Batman voice bothered me, lol. Why the gruff vocals? Ledger is a god to me now. His acting is great in everything that he has done, but this one tops them all. Ledger will always be one of my favorite actors.
