Do you ever wonder for how long your job would last, with so many work-places going under or moving overseas just how secure is the job you have and do you have a back up plan ? Is that thought always on your mind ,or something you just never think is going to happen to you?

I sort of have job security. I take care of people with disabilities, and at the moment i take care of my brother who has down syndrome and autism. As long as he lives i will always have a job, but i do worry what i will do when he passes on. Will i continue on with someone new, or go back to school to be a speech or occupational therapist. I dont know what i want to do when he passes but i know i will stay in a related field.

Working with people who are in need of being looked after means that there is always work for you.

I only started in my current job in February. Despite government cutbacks, I dont think my job's likely to disappear but there is quite a high turnover of staff with people leaving from choice. I'm not expecting to be replaced by computers!

Thank you! it was a job I took more from necessity to pay the mortgage than fom choice. (I was very happy in my previous work but it didnt pay a regular wage) I hated the first few days but, now that I'm settled, I enjoy it far more than I expected to.
