My fridge doesn't work. I've bought it for nearly 10 years and this is the first time it is out of work. It is not cool enough. At first I was going to buy a new fridge because I thought it would be inconvenient to get it fixed. I don't want to send it to the repair department because it's big and heavy. The charge may be high.
But at noon I made a call to the service. They said they would send someone to fix it in the afternoon. I am pleased to it because today it's Saturday and the repairman even arrived so soon. It's a little problem and he just changed a new fan inside.
I am quite surprised that this problem is solved. I don't have to spend extra money to buy a new fridge
I have to say that made-in-China products have good quality, and I am glad that the service is also so good. I know some people will not agree with me. But those products must cost so low price.
I know how important the cost price is. The buyers always want to have more profit and therefore they try to cut down the seller's cost. This is why I always think that products with very low price may not have good quality. The price shall be reasonable so that the quality can be reliable.

That is great.So you got a warranty or they just really offer a free service in fixing that? that is a great company or store then...
In our place, it's great to get a year warranty and after that they charge already in fixing it!

This fridge's company is responsible to fix it. Now most products have one year warranty, and some even offer 6 years warranty. Since I have bought my fridge for nearly 10 years, so I have to pay for the repair fee but I think it's quite reasonable. It's not expensive anyway.

I like the branded products since they have a good service, in fact that only these famous products can suply their good service, therefore, we need to buy branded products because they can offer the best service, espeailly a larger size products that we need its good service for us more than others.

It is good that you have avoided the expense of buying a new fridge.
I think their is a life period for every electronic good produced.. and we must change them, in exchange offers like that we have in our country and buy a new one.
Just as you, we had,a Godrej fridge in our house.. and it was running for more than 15 years, and on one fine day.. it did not start..and when the mechanic came, he said the compressor of the fridge got repaired, and we asked him to take this repaired one, the price he gave for the fridge was mere 500 rupees. Only 10 days back, before the fridge got repaired.. i asked a broker to take this fridge,and replace the original one, of course the difference in cost i was willing to pay him.
He quoted, 3500 rupee for the old fridge, which was still in the running condition at that time,but i insisted that it was too low a price ,and dropped the idea of bartering for new one. In the end, i lost 3000 rupees..

I have appliance insurance so if any of my appliances quit working i just call them they send out a repairman to check it if it costs more to repair it they replace it with a new one. I love this insurance because all i have to do is make a phone call and they do the rest.

If the product you have provides you a good service,, then you will be able to carry on with your old fridge.After sale service makes all the difference.

That is good that your fridge could be fixed. That is pretty good that you have had it for ten years. That is a good fridge.

although i prefer bargains / promotions.. when i comes to 'big' household appliaces - like tv, fridge, washing machine... i prefer to buy those with 'good brand names' like, Sony, Panasonic, Hitachi.. most of these brands are 'japanese', and although they're manufactured elsewhere (not in japan).. they have the same level of quality and standards.. these 'big' names have their reputation to protect.. so i trust their quality of goods to be reliable.. also.. to protect their 'good name'.. their 'after-sales service' are also much more reliable...

Good afternoon, dear youless. I also have an old fridge made by Guangdong Province with the brand name Rongsheng. It is seventeen years old and it is still working perfectly. Recently we have sent it to someone, who is glad to have it. I am so happy that this old fridge of mine is still working in another one's house in good condition. We have bought a same brand fridge. We bought it during the Spring Festival for my parents. In fact, the new one that we are using in my own family of three is also the same brand. I love this brand for its good quality. We don't have any problem with them. It is true indeed that the good quality and service is of vital importance. I am glad that you have got both good quality and excellent service like that I have got.

Hi youless! I do agree with you that we also have to be aware or conscious of the cost or price of the item we are buying. It should be reasonable enough to ensure quality somehow. If it is too low, then one should be wary. Besides, we also should take into account in buying from a reputable store who will not risk their reputation just to gain more profits and customers.
