I have a numbered star and the numbered star seems to be of significance to a number of people here. And maybe I too, should be excited by this, I just don't know why. It seems that for most people here there seems to be an unknown to a set in stone type rating system. I guess someone knows the mathematical calculations, just not us...lol...Can somebody explain the significance of the numbered star and how and when it goes up or down?

I believe it goes up and down with the number of positif or negatif ratings you get on your discussions and responses. That's why I always try to rate someones discussions or response when I read it. I feel this is important, 'cause I too like to have a rating that is correct.
Have a nice day

The star resembles your status on MyLot and how many people have rated you and given you a best response number 10 being the highest your friend littleowl

relundad the numbered star is the rating your fellow mylotters have given you its called a reputation rating, and we hit positive on all your stuff andyou get rated accordinly. ten is the highest and its a blue star.it goes up and down depending on how many of us hit positive and how many of us hit negative too many negatives will send your rating down and move your star to a lower one, this should only be done if someone says something insulting or flames someone.

Hi my friend
The numbers represent your MyLot reputation. When you start a discussion or reply to someone else's discussion, there are + and - in the margin. You need to rate that discussion or response according to how you feel about it. That is what determine's a person's number in the star.
I feel it is of importance because I feel that with a higher number it means that I've posted items that other people have enjoyed reading. I always try to think about what I write and do the best that I can.
Have a nice night,
Char
