High School Diploma, GED, or College Degree - Did It Help?

It doesn't matter what kind of education you've achieved. Whether you ended up with a High School Diploma, got a GED or furthered your education and got some kind of degree.
How do you think your education has benefited you in real life? If you got a college degree do you think it helped you get the job you wanted? If you are going to college now, what are you going for? Will you use your college degree?
In a round about way, my college degree has helped me in the long run. My major was English and I had a minor in Business Management. Business management and Economics helped me own and operate several successful businesses. I realize now that English helped me in my later years more than I realized it ever would.

that is a wonderful question. I think depending on what you want to do you need a degree. i didn't go to college, growing up it was not even a thought in my mind. I did go to trade school when i was 23 to learn how to use a computer, and work in a office. it was one of the best things i could have done for myself. I work at a great job and make really good money.
however, is that going to make me wealthy to the point where i don't have to work any more? i don't think so. I don't down play anyone going to college. my son is leaving in a few works and i am so proud. I say if it is something you want to do then go for it. but it is not something you need to do to become successful

I am double majoring in business and accounting, but am thinking of changing my accounting to urban planning. I work for the planning department as a secretary, but I do the job for a subdivision coordinator. I think if I had my degree already I would be a Planner and would be making double or triple the amount I make now. I definitely think that a college degree makes a huge difference.

Despite the fact that I don't use my college degree, I can but haven't. I believe having a degree enhanced my life. made it more marketable. And I know if I pushed this, I can go far in life.

some of the things i took in high school helped me in life, some i have never once used such as algebra which i hated. i went to beauty school soon as i got out of high school & that made my living for 48 tears along w/2nd little jobs on the side.
