why do you go on the internet?

i usually get on the internet several times a day and stay on for a little while at a time, and usually i will either check my email or sports or my myspace or something like that or either just get on mylot for a little while and see whats going on with everyone...but i know that most people get on the internet for different reasons and i was just wondering why most of you all get on the internet because maybe it will give me some ideas what i can do to entertain myself while i am on the internet, because as we all know that if you are doing the same thing time after time on the internet it is going to get boring after awhile and that is what has happened to me while i am on the internet...so if you don't mind sharing some of the things that you do while you are on the internet, thanks for reading my discussions and hopefully you will respond!

Hi jhl930.
I write articles for the internet in hopes of selling them to web publishers to be placed on websites. So, much of my time is spent researching whatever topic areas I plan to write about. It's alot of fun and I learn alot about many different subjects.
I also like myLot, just for the fun of it. Plus, it's nice to earn a tiny bit for being social. For the most part, researching is my thing.

I spice up my stay on the Internet with varieties. It changes from music, to social networking, and taking part in communities like myLot, reviewing/watching different websites, learning something new and obviously I have few most favorite websites that I try to visit daily. Over the past few months, whenever I have felt fatigued - I start stumbling at StumbleUpon.com - yes. It helps me a lot to stay refreshed. Obviously, I take occasional break just to get rid of stresses.

For me actually problem is two-fold. First of all, I can't pay attention to my Online world in the early morning and as the day progresses, I fail to detach myself from it. I just go on and on and on.

The main reason I go online is because I work from home a few hours in the mornings , and I have to . I don't mind it because I can do a few things at once like mylot , and the money will slowly build . I have a few small writing jobs I do online . I also, love to keep in touch with my friends . Sure, I have a myspace page and met some great people there , and also met back up with old friends . Mylot is a good place to meet some nice people from all over the world too .
I sell on ebay too so I am always there doing this or that . Also , what ever has my fancy at the time I will look up . There is a whole world out there online .

This is an hard question! I go on internet since i was 13 and i always really enjoined about that. My answer are:
1) Meet Friends
2) Improve my informatic and Personal Skills
3) Make Money ;)

Yes even i am going to internet to check may mails. but even sometimes i am going just to spend time. By surffing various website to collect informtions or to send ecards to my friend and relatives on fest or on thier special day.
Another reason is for net chatting. To make new friends or simply to talk to spend times. who knows you may get a good friend, even a life patner too at that chat. So try your luck.

Emails, Mylot and a few other things are the things I do everyday. When I need to know about something then I look it up on the internet. There was a time when I would waste a lot of time chatting with people I do not know but I rarely do that now.

My job is such that I have to be on the net the whole day. In between I keep checking my hotmail and gmail account for emails and notifications. And respond to all the notifications received. In between I also chat with some of my friends who are online.

I go to internet, to check my e-mail account, second my friendster, then myspace, mylot.. , current issues, informative sites like wikipedia, how things work and so others..preferably, i usually go to wikipedia for some information and interesting facts that i need to know and learn..

To watch news and movie,check e-mails and chat with friends in the free time.If in the office,surely do the business things,Look for informations.Sometimes buy the goods i need.

I usually get on the internet mainly at night but there is no specified time for me . We have moved to a new place and here I dont have old friends to chat with so here internet is my only companion for entertainment I use internet for atleast 10 hours a day. I watch movies, listen new songs, watch news, play games, check mails, and do lots of other things. Yes, internet users would have different reasons to go on online. My first reason every morning to on line is to check my emails, business and personal. Then, I spend some time writing reviews for "Review Stream". I do also write for other websites too. If you like writing, then take a look at "Review Stream". They pay for writing brief reviews on a variety of topics.

I useally get on the internet to surf the web, play games, do my surveys, check e-mail, and come onto MyLot to start/respond to discussions which I spend a majority of my time. I don't think life would be quite the same if we didn't have computers and the internet like we all have access to. It makes ones job so much easir to do I think.

the first thing i will do went i surf the net, i will open my website that i've create. Second, i will open up my email, myspace, tagged and etc. Finally, i will spend my time on Mylot. For me to get me from boring is i like to talk and make friends with all people around the world and because of that i join mylot. And also i like to upload video and picture that i edit myself.

im honestly addicted. i just have to go on. ill even just stare at my gmail or whatever. maybe download something ive been meaning to see, regardless of how huge and probably virus-y it is...but its all in good fun
