Most the time, my birthday is just like any other day to me. I try not to think much of it, since my Dad passed away on my 11th birthday. I know I should probably be happy, since it was also the time I was brought into this world, but I also really miss my father. I know he'd want to me to be happy and to celebrate my life on my day, but well I just kind of feel awkward doing so.

Not to worry, though I do miss my father and at times it is hard to talk about it, I find the best medicine to help with the continuing healing process is to at least acknowledge it from time to time. It's a fact of life that I have to deal with and come to terms with, which I have basically, but it's just something that may take further getting use to, to fully enjoy celebrating my birthday. I cherish the time I had with my father, and his memory will always live on. Just the emotional aspects I need to get over.

Birthday is a special day in everyones life that comes only once a year and we should enjoy on that day becuase on that day we have a chance to meet our loved ones and friends too. Celebrating birthday also gives us a free day from our busy working life where we can leave all our stress and worry. I dont celebrate my birthday but sometimes I invite some of my old friends and give them a treat in a restrount and in my home I spend the day with my family and mother prepares many of my favorite dishes.

I am a person who don't believe in celebrating his Birth Day with a party. I celebrate my B'Day very quitely and enjoy to do so. I spend my B'day with my parents and very close friends. Even I don't like to get gifts. It makes me feel like a child. To me, Birthday is nothing but adding one new feather to your hat. Growing age is nothing but to make you wiser and make you more experience. So, I feel it's more important to set up my goals in next year rather than partying hard.

When i was still single i always celebrate my b-day because that's what my parents want. But when i got married and have my own kid i would rather save the money for my own celebration and put it in my kid's b-day or saving at least i have some money to spend for the rainy days. And i think its not practical to celebrate b-days anymore because of the prices of our main commodities.

I prefer not to yet my family and friends always insist to celebrate it. Well, I was not really used to celebrate my birthday. Simple greetings and some food would suffice everything for a small celebration. When my birthday come, I feel more pressure to be a better man since I am already a year older.

i think boys seldom but girls often, some even twice a year. anyway, in my mind, i think not the quantity but the quality matters. that is to say, several unforgetable ones may be even more meaningful and valuable

I don't celebrate to the extent that I used to...I'm 24 now. This past birthday when I turned 24, I had a few friends over for cake (that I made myself) and then we went to dinner and bowling. It was fun, laid back, and I just wanted to be with my husband and close friends!

Yes I do.But it's not that grand since I'm not a kid anymore. I just give a prayer of thanks to the Lord because He made that day. We should be happy on our birthday. My family and I just eat out on that occasion or buy food then eat at home.

I hardly celebrate my birthday. I usually go out with a few friends or family for a night just to have an escuse to spend some money and have some fun. Most of my male buddies are the same way and I barely know the months that they are in. Now on the other hand my female friends demand much more (Nothing less than a parade) for their birthdays.

I always go out to dinner and have some entertainment, like a movie or shopping trip. I allow myself to spurge (dressing fabulously or buying a special treat like a DVD or book). I always do something special on my birthday, as I'm plain glad to be alive. I wasn't supposed to live to this age. I'm 32 and have several disabilities.

My daughters birthday is 2 days after mine so I don't really worry about mine. My mom took me out this year for my birthday which was nice and we went shopping. It was my golden birthday but it was my daughters 1st birthday 2 days after and I was throwing her a party. Its just another day to me. lol

We celebrate everyone's birthday as a family. Each birthday is a time to celebrate another year of life, which is a precious thing. We especially celebrate my kids birthdays. This past birthday for my daughter, we had everyone right ina journal to her something that she could read on her 18th birthday. It was really neat, but a little sad, too, becuase my grandparents wrote their message and said that they probably won't be around to see her 18th birthday. (she is 3 now). That made me sad, but she'll have wonderful things to read from those that love her the most.

Hi,sabahking. When I was a child I celebrated my birthday each time. But now I don't do it.I think birthday is a very important date but we needn't to celebrate it every time.To me,only a "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU" is just OK.

Yes, a small gathering of family and close friends. Nothing grand though. With all the financial crisis we are facing today. It will be hard to throw a lavish party. Being with the people I love on my birthday is enough celebration already.
